Welcome to our website. This department is a museum and tribute to the early days of firefighting in Rhode Island. We are a Non-Profit Oraganization.
What we do
This organization runs and maintains Historic and Antique Fire Fighting Equipment. We also participate in Fire Musters & Parades throughout New England. 		Station House & Function Hall
Greenwood F.D. has a two bay station, housing a 1940 Mack (Engine 5) and 1954 Maxim (Engine 7). Both are fully restored Pumper trucks. Also stored in the station house is the 1825 Tuskatucket Hand pumper, possibly the 2nd or 3rd oldest Hand Tub in the New England Area. The Function Hall is where we hold our monthly meetings and can be rented for meetings, parties and celebrations.

Greenwood's History
Greenwood Vol. Fire Co. No.1 was founded in 1924.
Taken out of services in 1970 when the City of Warwick removed Volunteer Fire Companies from operation. The City also borrowed Engine 5 from Greenwood Fire Co. 1 and Engine 7 from Norwood Fire Co. Norwood Fire Co. subsequently dissolved and some members joined Greenwood.
In 1975 the City of Warwick Fire Department returned Engine 5 & Engine 7 to Greenwood and the museum was formed.

Museum & Restoration Fund
We have a fund set up for donations to help in resoration and maintenance projects. Those donations are greatly appreciated.

Becoming a Member
To Become a Member you must gain sponsorship from a current member in good standing. Pay the annual membership fee. Participate in as many events and functions as possible.
